Cavitation

Cavitation is a symptom of a change in some liquid into a gas as a result of changes in static pressure in the liquid to its vapor pressure is highly dependent on its liquid temperature conditions.

In everyday occurrences such example is when the water before boiling occurs gas bubbles on the surface of the pan bottom when we boil water.

Cavitation in centrifugal pumps due to the static pressure drop at the inlet of the impeller blade channels as a result of increased flow velocity in the area
